Chin Homes In Need is a program of The Bunny Bunch. We are a non profit, no kill rescue and education organization for chinchillas. We are all volunteers and run entirely on donations.

We rescue chinchillas from high kill shelters in Southern and Northern California. We also take in owner releases (chins that have been bought from pet shops and breeders, but are no longer wanted).

Once the chins come to us, they go into quarantine as we often do not know their background. They have a vet check and as long as they are healthy, we neuter all the males to prevent any more breeding.

We believe chins should always live in pairs or more as they are such social animals, so neutering the males offers better options for pairing them with a female or another neutered male. Once all this has been done, we take applications from potential homes until we find the perfect fit.
